We got our refrigerator about a month ago from my sister in law. The old filter was long overdue for a replacement and the water and ice kind of smelled funny. I installed this filter replacement and almost immediately the smell was gone and both the ice and water tasted great. It was a little difficult to set into place but once it found the groove it went in and fresh water was ours.

I have an LG frig and use the filter to improve our water - drink LOTS. I had gotten a replacement filter since the LG filters are not cheap. But cheap is the optimal word. The replacements I tried are cheap not inexpensive. I have started a replacement plan - sent every 6 months.

The filter was a little difficult to replace but I just needed more muscle. I dont often use the water in the door but do use the ice. I feel better knowing the ice has been filtered. I appreciate the info on the door display to remind me when to change the filter. And it was on sale
